December 2022 Newsletter

Hello again. It’s December of 2022. We are all living above ground so that is good, right? I have a big question for you this month. Here it is:

“What does Christmas mean to you?

Some will say family and friends. Others will point to just another day, while yet others will say it’s a festival of tree lightings, gifts and parties.

I think that the real meaning was lost years ago when Santa appeared, and a money-making holiday was born. I used to be one of these, “festival” guys. Let’s party was my cry until I learned what Christmas was all about.

It’s not gifts and alcoholic drinks. It’s not family gatherings around a turkey or ham. It’s not tree lighting and parties. These things may enhance the holiday, but the real original celebration of Christmas was because it reflects the birth of Jesus, God’s only begotten Son.

They said he was God in human form. He was not half god and half man. He was all God and all man. Listen to what the apostle John recorded Jesus saying. It is found in the 3rd chapter of John’s gospel, the 16th verse.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

If we believe that Jesus is actually the Son of God, we acknowledge that he pre-existed as an eternal being before he was born into human flesh. John characterizes him as the “Word”

We also acknowledge that he was sent by God, the Father to earth for a specific purpose. Here again what john says about the only begotten Son of God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Jesus existed as the “Word” from the beginning.) The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-14) The key points to remember are:

1. Jesus pre-existed before even creation as the “Word”
2. He was with God, and he was God.
3. H was sent to earth on a divine mission…To save mankind from their sin.
4. He created all things. Creation was his handiwork.
5. He possessed life, and it was the light of men.
6. The light of God shinned through Jesus into the hearts of all men and was not understood or accepted. But some did accept and were saved.
7. He came to his own, (The Jews) and was rejected but there were others that would believe that he actually came from God and was indeed his only begotten son.
8. All that would believe were given power to become the sons of God.
9. He took upon himself the role of a servant, giving up his divinity, to live as a man.
10. Being found in human flesh, instead of being divine, he humbled himself and became obedient unto the death of his own will and even the sacrificial death of the cross.

His obedience led him to become the spotless lamb spoken of by the prophets and the sacrifice for the sins of the entire world. (Isaiah 53:5)
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. (We can have the mind of Christ. We just need to allow it to happen.)
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)

This is what we celebrate at Christmas. We give thanks to God for sending his only begotten Son that through him we can have eternal life. However, the greatest gift we can ever give to God is to receive Jesus into our hearts and make him Lord. When we do that, we fulfill our destiny and realize our full potential as God originally wanted. That is why we were created. That is why we are here. That is why we exist, to glorify God. That is what Christmas is all about. This Christmas, let us celebrate Jesus’ birth, why he came and who he really is.

Coming Soon, “Shadows in the Light of a Pale Moon” My Newest Book

I just finished my new book, the last one of this year and my 17th so far. The book is titled, “Shadows in the Light of a Pale Moon” It will sell for $14.95 and should be on the world-wide market soon. Here’s a synopsis. (Your V.I.P. price is $10 plus shipping)

“Shadows In the Light of a Pale Moon” is the story of Benny Ackerman, a fictional character that becomes the victim of a home invasion. He ends up killing one of the three intruders that broke into his home in the middle of the night. Because there was a death, his weapons were seized by police and a justification hearing was conducted to determine his mental competency.

During the investigation, police and the Judge both found that Benny’s actions violated multiple gun safety guidelines. He did everything wrong, and it was a wonder that he survived.

Benny was ordered to take a state sponsored gun safety and self-defense class before he could get his weapons back. During the class which had several other court-ordered folks, Benny learned the right way to defend himself and his family.

“Shadows In the Light of a Pale Moon” is written for anyone desiring to learn more about self-defense. Everyone can benefit from the many Tips, Do’s & Don’ts and a special section on “what to do in various situations.”

The book also focuses on 2nd Amendment Rights, Gun Control, Use of Deadly Force, Burglary Statistics, Home Inspections, Prevention Techniques, Victim Rights, Odds & Possibilities, The Christian Perspective, and much more.

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Wise men still seek him
Who appeared so long ago.
They come now by grace
Through faithful hearts aglow

Wise men still seek him,
For he is their “Bread of Life”
A sustaining inner strength
Through times of sorrow or strife.

Wise men still seek him
The Christ of Calvary
God’s only begotten Son
Crucified as sin’s penalty.

Wise men still seek him,
Jesus, God in human array.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
Born to earth on Christmas Day.

Back In Stock

My two children’s books are back in stock. Mister Tugboat and An Elephant Named Clyde. They are currently being shown in Barnes & Noble in The Villages… in the local author’s area by the check out. These books are perfect for grandkids.

In The Spotlight

This month I’d like to feature, “It Came To pass”. Here’s a synopsis of the book.

“It Came To Pass” is a timeless love story, all centered on the love and protection of God. The book tells the story of romance, war and tragedy that flows through WWII and the Vietnam conflict. The storyline will follow Bill and Sarah, childhood sweethearts and how they demonstrate faith in troubled times.

Central to the story is a golden coin that was lost for over 300 years, found by an American soldier in France during WW II and lost again by a ten-year old boy in a little town north of Odessa, TX.

The story will also address some modern-day social issues and will touch on God’s Will, Man’s Destiny, Faith, Loyalty, Free Will and The Authority of The Bible. This is a fictional story; however, the WW II and Vietnam facts are true and are based upon public records.

You can buy the book off my website at https://www.marinellichristianbooks.com. It’s an easy read and sure to bless you and strengthen your faith. This book would make a great Christmas gift.

Bible Trivia

Here are a few “Bible Trivia” question.

1. “What is the name of Abraham’s father?
2. “Which Bethlehem was Jesus born in”
3. “Who followed King Saul in the precession of Hebrew Kings?”
4. “Which Bible character was caught up into heaven, escaping death?”

I will answer these questions in the November newsletter.

Bible Questions

If you have a question about the Bible, let me know and I will try to answer it. Send your question to [email protected]

Mid-Term Elections

Please be sure to “VOTE” Most of you know that Marilyn & I are conservative Christians. That means we believe in God, are pro-life and seek to honor God and be a blessing to those around us. In these last days, our beliefs have been ridiculed, spoken of as evil and targeted by national media as racist. Their slander is a pack of lies. I will vote for those who support my faith and beliefs. I hope you will too. I have to tell you that the Democratic party is not my first choice. They have moved away from the truths of our founding fathers and I can no longer support therm.

My Collie Girls & Me

Here is a great book to read. It is full of pictures, well written, full of faith and love. It’s at Barnes & Noble in The Villages on the local author’s shelf. It is authored by Marilyn Marinelli.

Audio Recording Studio

Uncle Pepe, the guy that host the dance party at Captiva, also has a recording studio in his home. If you sing and want to make up a CD for friends and family, he’s the guy to talk to. He is reasonably priced and very professional. Send me an email at [email protected] with you name and phone number and I will forward it on to him.

That’s all folks

November 2022

Hello everybody…It’s November. Where did 2022 go? This month is a time to take back what was lost by bad politicians and look forward to better days.

Be Sure To Vote

It’s finally arrived. We can now vote our values. If your values are liberal, you will most likely be voting for a liberal administration that pushes a liberal agenda. In the past, that was not so terrible because even the liberals were patriotic and wanted the best for America. Now, that is not true. Today’s liberals are socialists seeking the overthought of our country.

They, the liberals, are far left and follow socialistic values. They took us away from being energy independent. They are responsible for high inflation. They blame others for their bad choices. I could go on and on but who cares. The fact is…we are now faced with hard times, high interest rates and a government that lies to us about almost everything.

It’s time to vote for the good guys, conservatives that will take us back to the prosperity and freedoms we use to have. “Don’t Forget To Vote”

Local Author Day

We had a great day on the 29th of October at Barnes & Noble in Ocala. We sold lots of books and met a lot of new people. Many signed up for our monthly newsletter and are now on our Verry Important Person list. Thanks to all who came by.

Book of The Month

Our, “Book of The Month” is Pulpit Poems. It is a great book full of Christian Poems that are divided into over 50 categories.

Pulpit Poems is especially designed as a, “Resource” for Pastors and Bible Teachers in their sermon and bible study preparations.

There are over 215 Inspired Christian Poems, most of which are short and powerful. They are “Great For Bulletins And Newsletters.” It’s also good for “Sunday School Lessons”, “Posters and Pass-A-Long Materials.”

Pulpit Poems is a work of love spanning nearly 50 years. It is sure to bless your heart and encourage you as you walk by faith with the Lord.
Pulpit Poems is a “Great Gift item” for Pastor’s Appreciation Sunday or a Christmas gift for other church leaders. It is also perfect as a “Daily Devotionals.” Each poem is tied to a scripture with a brief thought-provoking commentary.

Bible Trivia

Last month we presented three trivia questions. We had a lot of interest but few correct answers. Here are the questions again and the answers:

1. What was Abraham’s father’s name? Answer…Terah

In the Book of Joshua, in his final speech to the Israelite leaders assembled at Shechem, Joshua recounts the history of God’s formation of the Israelite nation, beginning with “Terah the father of Abraham Genesis 26:31

2. What bible character was caught up into the heavens, escaping death? Answer… Elijah 2 Kings 2:1-18

The chapter begins, “When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind . . .” (verse 1). The Bible doesn’t actually say that Elijah rode to heaven in a chariot of fire, but that is the assumption, since there was a flaming chariot and horses of fire at the scene, along with the whirlwind.

Note: There was also another Bible character that was taken without experiencing death. His name was Enoch.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Hebrews :11:5

It is believed that these two men are the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation that show up at the wailing wall in Jerusalem, are killed an d come back to life.

3. Who followed King Saul in the precession of Hebrew Kings” Answer King David

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh. Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel. So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel 2 Samuel 5:4

4. Which Bethlehem was Jesus born in? Answer…Bethlehem of Judea

Matthew 2:1-2 – Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Note: tradition says that the birth of Jesus was actually in August, not December.

More Trivia

Here’s a trivia question for this month….. Where did Jesus walk on water?

“MusicByBart”

Karaoke is still alive at Mc Calls in The Villages, every Monday from 1-4. See you there…lots of fun. It also looks real good that Bart will be doing karaoke at the PUB too on Wednesdays from 5-8 PM

Thank You Heavenly Father

Thank you, Heavenly Father,
For this beautiful day
And for the many blessings
That come our way.

For by your Spirit
Comes joy untold,
As hearts are mended
And lives made whole.

Thank you Heavenly Father
For this beautiful day.
It is with deep appreciation
That we kneel to pray.

For Jesus, our Lord
Has set us free
And given us eyes of love
To behold your majesty.

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we shall rejoice and be glad in it” Psalm 118:24

Even the day is blessed of God. He keeps us on track and leads us into His will that we night be to the praise of His glory.

Bibles Question

I received a question and a request to answer it from a man that was not familiar with Bible text. He said to put my answer in my next newsletter… so here we go.

Question: What was the forbidden fruit that Adam & Eve ate? The Bible text comes from Genesis, chapter three. I thought it important to show all the text so we can get a clear picture of what happened.

Genesis, 3:1-24

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree, which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: 23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

What does this text say about the forbidden fruit? Nothing, except that whatever type of fruit it was, It was deadly. It looked good to eat and desirable, plus, according to the serpent, it would make them wise, knowing good and evil. Early Christian writings suggest that the fruit was an apple or even a pomegranate because both were in the region as long as anyone can remember. However, no one really knows.

The tree that stood in the middle of the Garden of Eden is thought to be a fig tree but again that is just speculation.

Here’s what is important to know from this story.

  1. Adam & Eve were kicked out of God’s Garden because of disobedience.
  2. God di not want man to know or even experience evil, why? Because evil was not God’s character. It was the character of Satan and as light and darkness cannot exist in the same space, so it would be with God and man. They would lose their holy wholesome relationship and man’s personality would become distorted and abusive.
  3. Eve was the first one to eat of the forbidden fruit (Verse #6) However, she was not alone in her sin. Verse six also says that she gave the forbidden fruit to her husband that was with her and he also ate. They were equally guilty even though Eve ate it first.
  4. Adam & Eve became naked and had to cover themselves. It is believed that their clothing prior to eating of the forbidden fruit was the glory of God. They did not need physical coverings.
  5. Man’s environment was altered drastically. It was not a plush garden anymore but rather a cursed ground full of thorns and thistles.
  6. Women will now have to endure pain in childbirth.
  7. Man’s daily routine was also changed. He now had to work for a living and grow his own food and make his own way.
  8. Man became like God in only one respect…knowing good and evil. In every other way, he was deficient.
  9. Man died spiritually because of his sin. The “Breath of Life” that was paced into him, that made him alive, was taken away. He because a walking dead man, separated from continual fellowship with his creator.
  10. Both Adam & Eve believed the lie of Satan that they would be like God. He played on their lack of knowledge using a half-truth to deceive them. They were already like God in image and likeness. (See Genesis 1:26)
  11. Man’s DNA changed and the new character of evil passed on to Adam’s descendants causing all to sin. Listen to Romans chapter five.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” Romans 5:12-14

We are counted among those that death reigns over. That is why Jesus is so important. He died in our place and paid our debt because of sin. He also lived in our stead, the perfect life that Adam was supposed to live but didn’t. Jesus is the only one that can save us from eternal death and hell.

Well, there you have it

Until next time

Are there questions about the Bible that you have but are afraid to openly ask? Maybe you are not afraid and still need an answer. In any event, I would be honored to answer them. However, send one at a time so I do not get overwhelmed. I will use the Bible as my reference in answering and it will be strictly private from me to you via email. Send your question to me at [email protected] I have been a student of the Bible for over 40 years and am an ordained Christian minister with a major study in Theology.

I am looking for sponsors to cover the cost of publishing. If you have a business or product that you would like to advertise, we can offer you a full page 4/color ad space in our children’s books. The art is your responsibility, and the product or company ad must not conflict with Christian values.

The cost to participate is $1,000. For that, you get your ad in the back of the book just after the story so it will be seen and read by parents and grandparents. You also get 25 printed books to hand out to customers, friends and neighbors. Plus, this is an exclusive offer. Your ad is the only one other than our promo ads for other books. It’s yours for as long as we sell the book, reprint after reprint and…you can reorder at publisher’s cost, not retail.

That’s all for this month. I will leave you with this thought

Don’t Worry
(Mathew 6:34)

Don’t worry about tomorrow.
You did that yesterday.
Go on with your life,
And remember always to pray.

Ask and it shall be given to you,
But this great truth you already know.
REJOYCE AND BE HAPPY, Why?
Your harvest comes from what you sow.

I will say it again and even more,
Until it becomes crystal clear.
Tomorrow will take care of itself,
But worry is another word for fear.

Now here’s what I want you to do.
Trust in the Lord and be of good cheer.
Drop the worry from your vocabulary
And cast out that demon of fear.

Freedom Is Not Cheap

Think about all the young men that gave up their lives to keep America free. We owe an enormous debt to them. They sacrificed so we could live. This is why we celebrate the 4th of July…because many died to bring forth a nation that is of the people, by the people and for the people. We celebrate our freedom from an oppressive government in the past. It seems like we are now being oppressed gain through bad policy decisions in Washington. But we can change that by voting the bad folks out of office in November.

New Website

My new website has info on all of our books. I think there are 18 or 19 titles. There is also audio poems, Bible Time Podcast and more. Drop by sometime… www.marrinellichristianbooks.com.

I’ll leave you with this thought

The Lighthouse

 A lighthouse is a blessing,
To the ships that toss in the sea,
For it shows them the way,
Until they can clearly see.

The rage of an angry storm
Cannot hide its brilliant light.
Nor can its awesome furry,
Rule as an endless night.

Jesus is the lighthouse,
For those who have gone astray.
The light of His love,
Offers a new and living way.

Jesus is the lighthouse,
When fear and sickness rage.
The light of His love,
Gives hope in difficult days.

So trust in the Lord,
And look for His light.
He alone is “The Lighthouse”,
That guides you through the night.

Faith Conquers All

Ok, I want a show of hands. All those that live in doubt, fear or confusion, raise your hand. If you want to walk with Jesus and follow the ways of the saints of old, you will need to practice walking in and living by FAITH.

Did you know that we human beings cannot be in fear and faith at the same time? It is impossible. For whatever reason, we choose the one and reject the other. Our choices, many times, are based upon our faith to believe God or our lack of faith to believe what God has said.

Fear is a terrible thing. It can cripple the emotions and even bring sickness to the body. As Christians, we are called to a walk of Faith, not fear…but it is so very hard for some of us because we are not totally in the realm of Faith. We tend to worry about everything.

Fear Factors

There are wars and rumors of wars…threats of economic collapse, Political unrest, racial disturbances, and a lot of other fear- filled possibilities. They are all a matter of great concern but are not objects of fear or worry. Why, because the Angel of the Lord encamps round about those that fear (Reverence) Him, to deliver them….so says the psalmist of old.

Protection

It is easy to forget that God has given his Angels charge over us, or should I say those that are in right standing with him? If you qualify, by honoring your relationship with God and doing what is right, there is no reason to fear or fall apart. That doesn’t take away the threat of this or that. The terrorists will still plot, the evil doer will still conduct evil in the night but there is an Angel that is sent from God that has set up his camp all around you and is on call to deliver you at a moment’s notice. How great is that?

So why do you fear? Fear is the opposite of Faith. It is Faith inverted or distorted and corrupt. To fear is to put your trust in the possibility of that thing that you fear actually happening…just like faith is to put your trust in the promise of God, only it is the negative instead of the positive.

When you say, “I fear its reality” It is the same as saying, “I believe it will happen”. However, when I believe in what God has said, I am hoping or trusting in its reality. There is no real difference except that the channel is from God or Satan and the flesh. We chose to doubt (Fear) or to believe (Have faith).

The essence of faith.

Let’s be real…Blind faith is a recipe for disaster. We do not blindly believe. We instead, seek, knowing we will find. We knock, knowing that the door will be opened. We ask, knowing that he will answer and send us the wisdom to solve or at least get through the situation. Trusting in the Lord is to trust in what he has spoken into our spirits. A good example of this is Abraham. God said to him, “You will be the father of many nations and Sarah, at 99, will have the promised child” Abraham did not wish or hope just because it seemed like the right thing to do. He responded to God’s will and direction for his life by putting his trust in the promise and not wavering or doubting its reality. Faith is always a response to God’s calling and revelation. This is the essence of faith.

It’s high time that we get back to faith in God and his will for our lives. There is no reason, whatsoever, to fear. There is every reason to trust God and his Word.

Who or what is more powerful, God or fear-filled possibilities? God or the threat of life’s evildoers?

I, for one, believe that God works EVERYTHING together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purposes. (Romans 8:28) My rest and my peace come from knowing that his Angel is there, his Spirit is there, and his Love is there, that I may be delivered from whatever befalls me. How about you?

Faith Conquers All

Faith will conquer all
As life’s trials appear.
We who struggle so
Will soon dry every tear.

No reason to fear
The terror by night.
It is only the lost
Living out their plight.

God is, and that says a lot
Now I can surely rest in peace,
For He alone keeps us going
Until the storms have ceased.

Be of good cheer
In all that you do.
It’s time to stand
And let faith sustain you

“May-Days”

We’re into the “May-Days” already. How about that? We were just enjoying New Year’s Day with all the fixins. Back then, Russa was not a threat. Gas prices were decent. There were no food shortages. The economy was not great but bearable.

Life goes on but not for all. Did you know that there are more than 180 deaths in the US every minute? That’s 10,800 every hour and almost 260,000 every day.

The Bible says that “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” Hebrews 9:27

This scripture exposes reincarnation as a false teaching and tells us that death is an appointment. We all have an appointment with death. One day, it will be our turn to die and we will become part of the statistics shown above.

Which one do you fear the most, Death? Or Judgement? We will face both. I do not fear either. Here’s why:

1. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 15:25-27

We have victory in Jesus who overcame death and the grave. That is what we celebrate during the Easter holiday. Paul, the apostle said, “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians5:8

If you are a Christian, by that I mean a follower of Jesus, death is only a means of transferring from this realm to be with Jesus in the heavens. Death has no sting and the grave cannot hold you. The day will come when we will all die but not all of us will live again.

Living again, after we die, is possible but only for those who…well read what Jesus said as recorded by John, the apostle, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

The qualifier is “Whosoever” that believes. You must believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, sent by God the Father so we can live again. It is our faith in believing and our commitment to his teaching that prove our belief. We then become the, “Whosoever” folk that will not perish but have eternal life.

Eternal life is a free gift but those that it is offered to must accept it. It’s not ours until we embrace it with all our hearts. It is offered to “Whosoever.” That means anyone and everyone that accepts it and to accept it is to believe on Jesus as the only begotten Son of God.

The fear of death is no longer holding me captive. If you apply these Bible promises, you will be free from the fear of death too.

The other thing I do not fear is eternal judgement Want to know why? Because I will not be judged. Yes, I know that we will all appear before God at the Great White Throne Judgement as it says in the book of Revelation. Here’s the scripture.

2. “ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev. 20:11-15

Notice the last sentence. It says, in so many words, that there are those whose names were not found in the, “Book of Life” and those whose names were in the, “Book of Life.” So, how do we get our names in this book?

Remember, the scriptures say that the book is a book of life, not death. It is a record of all those that have believed on the only begotten Son of God as Jesus said. They will not perish but have everlasting life. My name is recorded in the “Book of Life.”

Here are a few other scriptures that support my view.

God’s Wrath… – For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Romans 1:18 God’s children are not subject to his wrath. They are under God’s Grace.

No Condemnation… “ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

Righteousness of God… “For he hath made him, (Jesus), to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 11 Corinthians 5:21 Think about it. If we have been made the righteousness of God in Jesus, why would God pour out his wrath upon us? It doesn’t make sense.

New Creature… “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Corinthian 5:17 The new creature is created after God and is not subject to his wrath.

The Rapture of The Church…“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming” (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8)

The man of sin is the Anti-Christ. He cannot come onto the global scene until he that “letteth” (Restrains) is taken out of the way. The “He” that restrains is the Holy Spirit. Jesus said he would not leave his disciples comfortless but would send them his Holy Spirit. Christians are actually sealed with the Spirit of God until the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

If the Holy Spirit is taken, we would be left alone, abandoned by God and that will never happen. He goes, we go with him. This is commonly known as the rapture or catching away of God’s people unto himself. The judgement of God cannot happen until this event takes place. That means we will not be on the earth when God pours out his wrath.

So, I don’t fear death or judgment. My sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. I am forgiven and now walk in the grace of God, sealed until he comes for me or I go to be with him.

Let me encourage all of you to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. No matter what you have done in the past, it’s not too late. There is still room at the cross for you. If you have questions or need someone to talk to, drop me a line… [email protected]

New Children’s Book
(An Elephant Named Clyde)

I just finished a new book. It is my first illustrated Children’s book. Actually, it was Helen Quinlan, professional artist that made it all happen. She too a story poem from my Original Story Poem collection and made it come alive…over 20 pages of top-quality graphics, most of which were her own original drawings.

The title of our new children’s book is, “An Elephant Named Clyde.” I penned the story poem over 50 years ago when my two children were small. Back them I was a bit crazy. I’d write a poem and read it to the family to see if they liked it. If the enjoyed it, I kept it. About 10 or 12 years ago, Marilyn, my lovely wife suggested I publish them in a book, so I did. The book began as, “Rhyme Time” and in a second edition became, “Original Story Poems For Children of All Ages.” There are over 80 story poems.

“An Elephant Maned Clyde” is an 11.5 X 8.5 horizontal presentation in full color with a glossy paperback cover. It retails for $12.95 plus s/h, however bulk orders of five or more come with a 20% discount off the full order.

This book is perfect for reading to small children in a group setting or just a bedtime story to your little ones or grandkids. It would also make a great addition to church nurseries, Daycares, and other places where kids gather.

Helen and I are offering “An Elephant Named Clyde” in an eBook format, free of charge to everyone that buys a printed version of the book.

If you are interested, call me right away at 352-687-1776 while I still have some on hand. Shipping is approx. $4.25 per single copy and a little more for bulk orders. (US delivery only)

Barnes & Noble

If you haven’t heard, Marilyn and I are featured along with other local authors in Barnes & Noble, in the Villages. We have one book each on display.

Join me now in praying for peace, prosperity and good health. This is our heritage in the Lord.

Planning For The Future

March is here and so are we. One third of 2022 has already passed away. Did you accomplish your goals for the 1st quarter of this year? I didn’t plan anything. I am retired and am in a state of perpetual rest, how about you? No, I am not a couch potato. I still plan for the future but not like I did when I was 25.

My plans for the future are three-fold:

1. To hear the voice of God and follow his leading.
2. To discern the times in which I live relative to the coming of the, “End Times”
3. To walk by faith and not by sight.

If Jesus is your shepherd, then you are his sheep, right? Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice. He is speaking to us in the Spirit. All we need to do is be still and listen to know his will.

We all need to discern the times in which we live. Is our generation the one that will see Jesus physically return to earth? Is our modern-day church the church that Jesus said was, “Lukewarm” and that he will reject? Where are we in relationship to the end of the world?

I am determined to walk by faith and not by what I see happening around me. There are many voices out there that are nothing more than false news, false doctrines and false teachings. What other folks say and do should not be a guide for what we do.

Our guide is the Bible and the more than 3500 promises given to us so we have plenty of hooks to hang our faith on. That’s how we walk by faith…by living in the Word of God and applying its truths into our every situation.

I will be planning a series of fee Bible Seminars in which I will be dealing with the subject of the end of the world. The seminar will be in conjunction with my new book, “The End Of The World, From The Beginning.” We will discuss the coming destruction of planet earth: what the Bible says; what Jesus said about the end times; why, when, by whom or what; what we can do to prepare ourselves or even avoid the end of days.

The seminar dates are not yet set. I will keep everyone informed when I finalize them. However, it will be limited seating so if you are interested, send me an eMail telling me you would like to come and I will make sure you are on the list.

The seminar will most likely be at a public library or restaurant with a private room. It will be in the afternoon and last approximately 90-minutes.

I hope you can attend. It is never too late to learn what God has coming in our future and how to be ready.
