John 9:31
Introduction
“When the enemy comes in like a flood, God raises up a standard against it.” “No weapon formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that rises up against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the Lord and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”
How many times have you been attacked by the enemy of your soul? How many times have you fallen, not holding on to the Word of God? Where is your faith? Isn’t it supposed to be in God and His word for each and every occasion?
The floods have raised up oh Lord; the floods have risen up against my soul (mind, will and emotions).
“Seek ye first the kingdom and God, and his righteousness all these things shall be added unto you.”(Mathew 6:33) What are these other things that the world seeks after? Now remember, they are not suppose to be the things that puff you up with pride, jealousy, and money to lavish upon yourself.
God says we should (Psalm 91) “He that dwells in the secret place of the most high God shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty and I will say of the Lord He is my refuge in Him will I trust.” How do we trust God?…by looking for and seeking His direction in all our situations. That is how we then find ourselves walking by faith and not by sight. Doesn’t the bible say we should walk by faith and not by sight? How many times have you experience this kind of walk with God? How many times have you found yourself telling others how God got you through a situation based on His Word from the bible to you? How many times has God simply told you to rest in Him, trust in Him and let Him work out your situation? Sometimes we need to do something based on God’s Word to us. Other times He wants us to just be still and let Him take care of the situation.
I heard a lady on TBN speaking. She was relating this to the audience, “My son asked me if when I go to the store do I ask God what melon to pick out?” She answered him and said, “Yes, of course. God can show me the melon I need to buy and it is a lot easier than touching all of them to figure it out.” What simple faith and yet how many times have I asked the Lord to help me buy groceries and save money at the same time. As I would be in the store looking for the things I like to buy, I would find these items on sale. Now it doesn’t happen all the time, only when I rely on the Lord. I even get parking places close by the store I am going to. My husband just sits amazed and says, “You are truly anointed to get close up parking places.”
I could tell you so much about God’s provisions for me personally. It really is great. I could hear some of you say. It doesn’t seem to happen for me. The only thing I can say is, you don’t just ask. You surrender to the Lord for His guidance and provision and watch and see what He does for you.
I met a lady at a garage sale we were doing. She started to talk with me about the Lord at a time my faith was low. This is quickly what she said. She told me how she just loved the Lord and His leading in her life. God had saved her husband.
Her husband was not an alcoholic anymore, and God gave her the house she desired. She was glowing with excitement of how God had been providing for her.
Yet, there are other Christians I have met that know the Word, can quote scripture like anything, and know all the stories in the bible. Nothing ever seems to change for them. They always seem to struggle to get the things they need. You never hear them express any excitement of what God has done for them. Why? Could it be because they are not taking time to have a personal relationship with the Lord? They may think knowing all they know brings them closer to God. But, God wants us to seek Him with all our heart and apply His Word to our life. Because God’s Word is a living Word, it goes forth and produces all that we ask, as we trust in God for our safekeeping.
God Wants You
“Now we know that God heareth not sinners; but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” (John 9:31)
“Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3-4)
Find yourself in the Word of God. There are special little messages just for you. God has special teachings for each of us as we walk with Him. As they are revealed to us and we apply them, we are blessed and become a blessing to others. And as we walk along life’s way, we will meet others that can rejoice with us knowing that God’s Word in me never fails.
